My wife and I were looked after by Alf Wileman and his wife in 1972 on the occasion of B/m Fred Gott and wife Jean’s return to Sheffield after departing for Australia in 1951. Still have very fond memories of that week-end and the Wileman’s generous hospitality especially when they only had a few days notice of our coming. Nothing was a problem for them. Unexpected and very pleasant surprise to have stumbled across this site.

Thanks for your message, it’s good to hear about your memories of time spent in Sheffield. I will pass this on to Alf as well.

Thanks for a most entertaining and enjoyable concert last night at Christ Church, Stocksbridge.
I have been associated with Brass Bands for most of my life and can appreciate your skill and commitment.
Your singing was melodic, in tune and both your diction and dynamics were excellent. I belong to a male voice choir, who rehearse twice a week, but your band sings better than we do.

I look forward to your return visit, next year.

    God’s blessing to you all.

Hello everyone from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Just spent a few minutes looking at the website being reminded of ‘home’ and that amazing collection of men and women, many of whom have had and continue to have an impact on my life. The ‘old boy’ on Bass still looks good, see ya soon ‘pops’.I am indeed blessed and honoured to have been a part of this band.
Our thoughts and prayers today are also with Janet and Julie Wright as they remember Jims passing but also celebrate his life.

Just wanted to commend Keith & all at SCB for the ‘Legacy’ CD. Fantastic ! I have just had it a few days and have been truly blessed by the thoughtful, sensitive nature of the pieces but also the vibrancy and fun that I know is a treasured part of the Band fellowship and a fitting hallmark of the life and ministry of Jim Wright.

    Thank-you again.

    See you soon

Great to see SCB online and keeping interested bandos up to date with what’s happening.

This band has played a key part in my development as a Salvationist musician and I treasure the inspiration and encouragement of it’s members, past and present.

I look forward to getting the Legacy CD!

Hi all, just a quick hello from Abu Dhabi. Checked out your website, it was great to see so many faces from the past (maybe with one or two more chins than last time I saw them!) but its good to see everyone is well.

    Keep up the good work.

    Best wishes
