Keep on running

This Sunday SCB Band Sergeant, Major David Chadwick, will be taking part in the London Marathon. This is David’s second London marathon, having completed it in 4 hours and 33 minutes back in 2010.  Despite a couple of training setbacks earlier in the year, training has been going well & David says he will be “very pleased to manage anything faster than this” this year.

David will be raising money for the Sheffield Citadel Corps Project which aims to provide clean drinking water for a rural community within the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The country itself is very poor and in fact has the lowest recorded GDP.

The Salvation Army has kindly supplied David with a bright yellow, red and blue t-shirt complete with a huge red shield, so keep your eyes peeled when you’re watching the race on your televisions and you may be able to catch a glimpse of him racing to victory across the finish line.  We’ll report back on how David got on in due course.

Anyone wanting to sponsor David in running for this worthwhile cause, can do so online at www.justgiving.com/davidchadwick56

Run David, run
