It’s always good to have guest leaders at Band Practice and to listen to different personal views on Salvation Army music. Last week SCB was privileged to have Bandmaster Andrew Blyth, from the Army’s music department, with us in Sheffield to lead our rehearsal.
The Band enjoyed 2 hours under the leadership of Andrew and were challenged in the playing of The Present Age, which will be featured in programmes during 2013.
Andrew also introduced the Band to a beautiful piece of music by Les Condon, “In wonder beholding”, music which is particularly apt as we approach Easter, as well as a contrasting new march by Kevin Larsson entitled “Temple 125”.
We look forward to Andrew’s next visit some time …. 🙂
