Three young people were welcomed by the congregation John Nkounkou, Ryan Coates, were away on their first weekend away with the band.  Also Alice Gilbert who was to become enrolled as a Senior Soldier the following weekend at Croydon indeed a memorable moment for  each of them.

A feast of music with something for everyone included CITY OF GOD, DEEP RIVER, CRISTO REDENTOR, and the classic piece My Comfort and Strength Brian Bowen.

Sunday the Commissioner again challenged all ages with real life situations of God’s love, and compared the Fathers love of the Prodigal son to God’s love for each one of us. Music from the home Y/P Sections and Songsters enhanced the worship.

The bands contributions to the final meeting of the day included MY HEARTS DESIRE, Cornet solo THIS IS MY STORY Darrell Scholes. Announcing the next item B/Master Mark Ingram invited Damian Wileman to conduct his arrangement of LORD OF ALL.

Verses from ROMANS 8 (V31 to 39) led into the bands excellent rendition of ROMANS 8 Ray Steadman-Allen.

The Commissioners final words of the day left us no doubt of God’s love to each one of us, and music from the band I’M IN HIS HANDS Arr Dorothy Gates reassured us of that fact.

To conclude a weekend of prayer fellowship and worship through music two pieces of music. The festival march CELEBRATION Leslie Condon to inspire us, and ST CLEMENTS arr James Wright to send us home in reflective mood.
