SCB said farewell to Deputy Bandmaster Simon Rowney at the Yorkshire Candidates Farewell last night. Simon, his wife Victoria – a former member of SCB – and their children Daniel and Luke will be leaving for the William Booth Training College in the next few days as they begin their training to become Salvation Army Officers.
Simon has been a Bandsmen of SCB for 18 years and served as Band Secretary before he took up the position of Deputy Bandmaster a few years ago. He has been principal cornet player for a number of years and is a valued member of the Band who will be missed both for his musical ability and for his part in the Band fellowship.
We thank both Simon and Victoria for their contribution and commitment to SCB and we wish them well as they embark on this new chapter in their Christian service. We will continue to support the Rowney family in prayer in the days ahead and our thoughts will remain with them particularly during the next two years but we look forward to hearing about the exciting times that lie ahead.
